IMPEP Team Members:
In the past year, there have been several instances when emergencies
have occurred involving IMPEP team members. We wanted to take a
moment to review the steps you should take if something unexpected
prevents you from participating on an IMPEP review as scheduled.
Emergency Prior to an IMPEP :
If an emergency occurs prior to an IMPEP review that will prevent
you from traveling to and taking part in a review, contact one of
the IMPEP Project Managers as soon as you can. We will contact your
team leader to discuss what steps need to be taken. If you need
us to cancel your travel and hotel arrangements, please let us know.
Emergency During an IMPEP:
If an emergency occurs during an IMPEP review, contact your team
leader as soon as you can (if they are not already aware of the
problem). The NRC has guidance for the handling of emergencies while
on official travel. Unfortunately, travelers are not reimbursed
for hotel expenses while in the hospital. If you need to go into
a hospital overnight , you should check out of your hotel (or have
someone check out for you). Also, please contact Carlson Travel
(301-415-5006) if you need to go home early and they will change
your airline tickets.

Please be aware that you can be connected to NRC employees by calling
the NRC Operator and requesting a transfer. We hope, of course,
that you will not need to take any of the steps discussed in this
e-mail. But if something does occur, following this guidance will
ensure that everyone is aware of the situation and that proper steps
can be taken.
